The onions of this variety have bulbs with flat base and are spherical. The other characteristics which make them unique are their deep scarlet red colour, phenols and high pungency. Devanahalli Pomello is citrus fruit indigenous to this region and is an exotic crop variety. The fruit enjoys a strong market demand. Its sweet taste and flavour are considered to be better than those of other varieties in the market.
