Polyisobutylene Succinic Anhydride (PIBSA) serves as a chemical intermediate which helps in dispersion of hydrocarbon products. It is used as an additive for bio-fuels, emulsion explosives, lubricants, oil drilling, water treatment & coatings. Sorbitan monostearate is an ester of sorbitan (a sorbitol derivative) and stearic acid . The sorbitol end of the molecule is very soluble in water. The stearic acid end is soluble in fats. Polyisobutylene is chemically inert, hydrophobic and impermeable to water vapour or gas. a synthetic liquid polymer, which is a straight chain hydrocarbon structure of Polyisobutylene that is produced in a variety of grades through a rigid low temperature polymerization process.
