Salud Vida! Wild Honey is unique. It is natural and unprocessed honey harvested from the bee hives that grow from the mountain cliffs, not trees, of Patalkot Valley of the Satpura mountain ranges. The bees feed on the wild flora of the mountains and its jungles, consequently, the honey is full of the medicinal goodness of the Ayruvedic herbs that the flora of these jungles harbour. The amount of sugar in the honey is much less than the popular brands, if you notice. The nectar of wild flowers from which the honey is made is rich in many minerals and medicinal compounds that farm bred or mono-floral (single flower nectar) lacks. This honey is harvested by tribal people and collected directly at the point of harvest so that Salud Vida! Can control the quality and purity of the honey that is bottled in their plant and brought into your hands. The jungles are rich in natural medicinal plants like Harad (Terminalia chebula, commonly known as black- or chebulic myrobalan), Behda (Terminalia bellirica), Jamun (Syzygium cumini), Aawla (Indian gooseberry, Phyllanthus emblica), Tamarind (Tamarindus indica), Moringa (Drumstick, Moringa oleifera), Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), Mahua (madhuca indica), herbs like Actiniopteris radiata, Adiantum capillus-veneris, Adiantum philippense L, Cheilanthes farinose, Cheilanthes tenuifolia, Equisetum ramosissimum, Lygodium flexuosum (L), Marsilea minuta L. , Selaginella bryopteris (L.) also known as Sanjeevani and many more, yet undiscovered. (Journal of Medicinal Plant Studies ISSN 2320-3862). The art of packing honey in ceramic jars and sealing it with natural beeswax was prevalent even in ancient times. Honey preserved in this manner has been found nutritious and consumable even after centuries, in Egyptian pyramids. In our quest to reduce plastic usage in packaging, we have adopted this ancient and effective method.
