Allagadda Stone Carving
Allagadda is one of the important stone carving centres in Andhra Pradesh. Mythological figures and the stone carvings of the Gods and Goddesses in the temples in these regions are the typical illustrations of the stonework. Allagadda sculptors widely use a Sand Stone called as Isuka Rai in local language and Krishna Shila Stone or Black Stone called as Pesara Rai in local language. Both the stones are available at Talamanchipatnam near Jammalamadugu in Kadapa District which is nearly 40 Kms from Allagadda.
