Chendamangalam Dhoties & Set Mundu
The Chendamangalam Dhoties or Mundu is a piece of bleached or unbleached (not dyed) cloth which is worn around the loins to cover the lower part of the body by both men and women. Two types of Dhoties are prevalent in Kerala the single and the double. The Single Dhoti is made using a twisted yarn and the length varies between 1.9 to 2 metres. The Double Dhoti ranges from 3.6 to 4 metres and is made with single yarn. The Set Mundu consists of two pieces of cloth, the Dhoti or Mundu and, Neriyathu or Kavani.
