Ingredients:

Poha Pongal mix: 1 part (for example, 100 grams)

Preparation:

1. Boil the water:

Start by heating 2 parts water in a pan. If you are using 100 grams of mix, add 200 ml of water.

Bring the water to a gentle boil over medium heat.



2. Add the Poha Pongal mix:

Slowly add the Instant Poha Pongal mix into the boiling water while stirring constantly to avoid lumps.



3. Cook the mixture:

After adding the mix, lower the heat and allow the mixture to simmer. Stir occasionally to ensure it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan.

Continue cooking for 5-8 minutes or until the mix absorbs the water and reaches the desired consistency.



4. Check the texture:

The pongal should have a soft, slightly thick texture. If you feel it’s too dry, you can add a little more water and simmer for an additional minute.

If you prefer it thicker, cook for a little longer until it reaches the preferred consistency.



5. Optional seasoning (if desired):

While the Instant Poha Pongal is ready as is, you can optionally enhance the flavor by tempering with ghee, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, and a pinch of asafoetida (hing) for a traditional touch.



6. Serve:

Once the Poha Pongal reaches the perfect texture and flavor, remove it from heat. Garnish with roasted cashews or fresh coriander leaves if you like, and serve hot.




Notes:

Adjust the water based on your preference: for thicker Pongal, reduce the water slightly; for a looser consistency, add a bit more.
